Journey to Storybee is an immersive bedtime storytelling app for children aged 3 to 8. It turns the nightly routine into an adventure with personalised audio stories, soothing narration and AI-powered voices.
Stories help children drift off peacefully while learning values such as kindness, courage and empathy.
Rather than screen-heavy entertainment, Storybee is audio-first, with calming narration, an offline mode and parent-friendly controls for a safe experience.
The challenge

Children crave new stories every night, but parents do not always have the time or energy to invent them. Existing apps lean on screens or robotic narration and lack emotional depth.

Our approach
How the story was written
Equitysoft Technologies partnered with Storybee to build a platform that blends AI voices, curated narratives and child-first design.
Chapter One
Conceptualisation
Set the goal of bringing back the magic of bedtime stories safely, validated features such as voice cloning, offline mode and listening awards through parent and teacher interviews, and planned a launch library of 40 stories expanding weekly and monthly.
Chapter Two
Design
Created wireframes and prototypes with child-friendly navigation, voice selection, a parental gate, age and genre filters and progress rewards, in a calm, distraction-free interface that puts listening first.
Chapter Three
Development
Integrated ElevenLabs AI voice cloning, implemented monthly, yearly and educational subscriptions, built an admin dashboard for content, voices, categories and analytics, and added iOS and Android support with Echo and Nest integrations planned.
Chapter Four
Deployment
Launched audio-first stories with optional follow-along text, offline downloads for travel, push notifications and bedtime reminders, and parental settings covering privacy compliance (COPPA and GDPR) and subscription management.

Engaging, not robotic
AI voices were fine-tuned with emotional tone and natural cadence, and parents can clone their own voices.
Screen-free interactivity
An audio-only mode with gentle animations and a nightlight option keeps children engaged without heavy visuals.

No data is collected on children, parental controls sit behind secure PINs, and the app is COPPA and GDPR compliant.
Scaling story content
A flexible admin panel lets the team upload, schedule and tag stories so the library keeps growing.
Sustainable business model
Subscription plans and educational enterprise packages, with token-based story unlocks planned for future scale.
