About Printing Brands
Printing Brands is a print-on-demand (POD) platform that helps businesses sell custom-designed products without managing inventory, production or logistics.
It integrates with Shopify: sellers apply their designs to predefined templates and publish products straight to their store. Each order then triggers automatic printing, packaging and shipping.
By automating fulfillment end to end, the platform lets entrepreneurs focus on design, marketing and growth instead of operations.

The challenge
Selling custom products online is attractive, but production, inventory and delivery are complex, costly and slow to manage. Many businesses struggle with upfront costs, inefficient operations and scaling. Printing Brands needed to answer five questions.

03 · The production line
How we built it
We built the platform in four stages, then solved five specific engineering problems along the way.
Conceptualization
Defined a Shopify-integrated print-on-demand ecosystem, mapped the key journeys (product design, store integration, order processing, fulfillment) and structured the core modules for customization, order management and fulfillment automation.
Design
Designed a simple, intuitive customization interface with predefined templates and mockups, minimal-effort Shopify store connection and a clean flow for quick product publishing.
Development
Built the Shopify integration for product listing and order sync, the system that applies user designs to product templates, automated printing, packaging and shipping workflows, and back-end order tracking and fulfillment management, all designed to scale with order volume.
Deployment
Deployed on scalable cloud infrastructure, tuned performance for real-time order syncing and processing, and added monitoring for fulfillment accuracy and system health.
